The Comeback

The most dreadful period of your life has begun, and ‘The Phase’ has wreaked havoc all over, and we go without realising it for quite some time. All the confidence, pride and morale we have is crushed when we’re going through it, and there has to be some way to come out of it. We put our heart and soul in doing that thing and received excellent feedback from others, but ‘The Phase’ just doesn’t let us cherish that, and gets in our mind.

With so much happening in quick time, the person often fails to understand what’s going on. We have done the ‘thing’ well and consistently, but it just goes away from us, in no time. We imagine ourselves doing it everyday, or everytime. It might be a thing you do for a living, or just for fun. It’s something really important for you, and it’s highly unlikely that you’d want to not continue doing it, or just lose it. In the previous article, I had discussed how we enter this phase, and get stuck in it for a long time. The reasons for you not being able to comeback are unexplainable, and it’s basically that you have this mindset of doing nothing at all! I don’t know why, but this phase has made you do nothing, and you’re just wasting time. IT’S SO TOUGH FUNCTIONING AS A HUMAN BEING WHEN THERE IS AN ENERGY in you that makes you do nothing! Life becomes nothing but intense.

Let’s think in a way that you’ve entered this phase, and it’s been around 1-2 months being in it. You haven’t realised it yet, and continue living a normal life. We do everything possible, except doing ‘the thing’ and it is just fine for you. You might have picked up another thing, but nope, you don’t have the kind of spark you need for it. You do have a spark but you do not utilize it in that ‘thing’.

We’ll jump to the conclusion that finally, you’ve understood being in this ‘phase’, and how horribly it has impacted you. It takes you a couple of days, or maybe a couple of weeks to digest this fact. It’s basically a disease that affects you mentally but not physically, and can even be contagious to others, depending on your situation. The first step of progress in achieving the comeback is successful, as you’ve realised being part of ‘the phase’!

With the first step complete, we move to the second one. This step involves you understanding certain things, like do you really want to continue doing this thing? Or it was just another ordinary part of your life? This step will probably take you a couple of days, or longer, because it’s a huge decision. Don’t ever make such decisions in haste for outcomes, as they have huge impacts afterwards. The word patience is the key here.

Moving to the third and final step towards the comeback, this is only for the ones who have opted to continue with the ‘thing’ and not for the ones who pulled out, but you can still read this and maybe change your mind. With the decision now made, you need to return back and do the ‘thing’. This step needs patience, focus, and hard work. You need to take one step at a time, and slowly return back.

Do not expect yourself to be perfect when you return, because you’ve been away from it for a long time. There is rustiness, you’re a little short of confidence, and pressure. The important thing is that you’ve finally returned, and you’ll be back to your best in no time. It’s even better if the pressure brings the best out of you, and the progress in returning to your best has a much higher rate. The following is a complete example of how to make a comeback after immersing into the ‘phase’.

A young boy is a budding writer, and is looking for opportunities to showcase his skills, and finally receives one. His article on the importance of Aunts has worked wonders, and he gets an opportunity to post blogs for a website. He obviously starts with the aunt blog, which receives several likes, comments and views. With his confidence, he continues to build a reputation by continuing with about 3 more posts. By the end of August, 2020, he has 4 posts, starting a mere one month ago.

But by the start of September, 2020 he has somehow entered the phase. He failed to realise the fact that he entered it, and became an easy target. He didn’t write a single word for two whole months, and that didn’t even bother him. He had a terrible mindset that those 4 blogs gave him a lot of praise, so it didn’t matter if he wrote for a long time. But finally in early November, he indirectly returned to writing, thanks to his friends. They had written a 2000 word short novel, and he contributed to it too! Though he didn’t realise he had somehow returned to writing, he had a desire to write articles again, but boy, he couldn’t write anything at all! He needed to take one step at a time.

It took him about one whole month to finish his comeback article, summarizing the year 2020. He began slowly in the first week of December, and you’d expect him to easily finish by the end of the month, but nope. He took his time and finished by the second week of January. Though he was late, he regained confidence of writing and his consistency was back. He regularly started posting articles and stories, and still does.

For many wondering who the boy was, it was me. Every single thing I mentioned is true, and happened in real life. After a mere four posts, that horrible mindset made me enter the ‘phase’ and it took ages to come out of it (I regret having the mindset). That one blog gave me the much needed confidence, and I made sure it didn’t happen ever again. Entering the phase takes no effort, but coming out of it is a huge task itself. The comeback is always better than a setback, and try to understand it as soon as possible. You might think that this brings an end to the ‘Truth Series’, but there is one segment yet to come out (wait until next week to wrap up this series). Until next time, stay safe, healthy, wear a mask and sanitize.

Adios.
