Life: The Path not taken

What is the meaning of life? Let’s start from the very beginning: we’re born without having a single clue regarding what to do in life and our parents spoon feed us until we’re like 6 years old (might be more in some cases). No motivation, no discipline, no goals and 6 years of total carelessness doesn’t impact us, right? There is no goal in life and lack of focus won’t matter at all. Our very first and most difficult challenge in life starts off when our parents throw us into a different world where there is a very little chance of spoon feeding: SCHOOL. It’s a world like experience, and this isn’t a preschool where teachers might be fun and spoon feed kids. School teaches kids how to become independent and have enough time to spare for studies and other works. If you’re an Asian, then these school years are going to be the most difficult and painful for Kids. Peer pressure, grades and competition could possibly get the best out of you, but in some pattern, it might not. Well, in most cases, it doesn’t.

Kids get pressured to study all the time and perform well with the best marks in the entire grade; parents compare kids to their cousins who get better grades than them and berate the kids in what impacts them mentally. Anything less than an A will cause a lot of mental stress. For a handful of people, this pressure gets the best out of them. But for the others, they need to freely do things. Not everyone thrives under pressure, and especially at such a young age and for such a petty thing. For the next 10 odd years, studying has to be the only goal in your life (according to many) and nothing is more important. In recent times, we’ve stressed a lot on extracurricular activities, but there are people who still believe: studies>>> anything.

Now once these ‘kids’ have gone through the studying phase; the job phase begins. They get a job and then start making money. They work 9-5 every day, come home have some tea, watch some TV and go to sleep. This stuff is repeated every day. What’s even the point? I think that’s not it though, there’s so much more to life. As a human, there’re here to serve the rest of humanity, and enjoy themselves. Kids have to chase their dreams; push humanity forwards and they’re important to other people. Life is very important, people are important, and there needs to be enough understanding of how to utilize time properly.

Why should people live in fear of losing or not succeeding? This fear doesn’t allow us to express ourselves and we miss out on enjoying several moments of life. ‘In the long run, we’re all dead- John Maynard Keynes, so why not enjoy every moment and hope to be forgive all and be forgiven’. Just being in alone and being under pressure all the time completely changes the outlook of the person. I understand the importance of finishing works, but you need proper scheduling for everything. The second you feel burdened with work or something that’s bothering you, talk it out! It does sound very weird and funny but talking your problems with others actually does help. It’s time to beat these mental struggles.

What about the people who’ve actually beaten the odds and become successful humans in life? All they’ve done is kept it simple by doing the thing regularly and without losing their charm. Consistency has been the key to their success, and it hasn’t helped them to succeed in a couple of days/weeks. Success isn’t an overnight story, and they’ve been patient in learning and developing things. Consistency actually enhances our mind so well as it brings up challenges, and develops discipline really quickly. When you’re consistent enough, things don’t go unnoticed at all.

What do you get after being consistent with things? Simple answer: success and prominence. It’s all about how you think, things can be taken positively or negatively, but the ones who always take it positively, proceed a lot further in their lives. Eminence is a triumph and it’s the point when you do something beyond your expectations and limits. Sometimes to gain triumph, people make complications in life. Life is easy if you understand it. To attain victory, we should never lose hope. There are always ups and downs, but the ones who know to handle the tough parts of it, succeed. Remember three words: Consistency, Longevity and excellence. These will help you to achieve greatness, it could take months, years or even decades, but it eventually will.

Take the path you want to in life, not the one others do.
