THE POWER OF MUSIC

Food, water, laptop, entertainment and a good amount of sleep. Each one of the above things are quite essential for a person. There is something that was as significant as the above things, or even more. People have lost their interest in MUSIC in recent times, but the real Music-lovers never did.

I have met a mixed bunch of people: some very passionate about music; some who don’t like music at all; some passionate about music just to keep it as a hobby for themselves (let’s not point any fingers). Music is something that cannot be defined, or something that has a lot of meanings. Enjoying music is fun, as we can literally feel it.

While reading a book, our mind is attracted towards it. We’re committed to reading the book, and in some time, we completely immerse ourselves in reading it. We imagine the characters in the book, and the places that they explore. Similarly, in Music, we are lost in the rhythm of listening to it, or I would further say, practicing it. All of us at some points (many will disagree) have enjoyed listening to music more than ever, and just can’t get over it.

When it comes to talking about favourite form entertainment, everyone talks about their favourite movies, TV shows, etcetera. Many people speak about their favourite books and authors. Others speak about watching or playing sports, while some mention spending time with family is their favourite piece of entertainment (yeah you read that right). But, very few people speak about their favourite form of music, song or musician. The ones who don’t enjoy music should know that neither TV shows nor movies can run without music. Be it the dramatic background music or the title songs, a movie or TV show is incomplete without Music.

Music is a very vast topic, and if we’re having a detailed conversation about it, we can really go in-depth. There is rock music: very hard beats and originates from the USA. Country music is the kind of music old people enjoy listening to, and it’s still popular nowadays. Classical music is one of the most important forms of music, and its origins are very old. It’s generally referred to the music during the 17th and 18th centuries, and undoubtedly it’s still very popular, such is its impact.

We love listening to music, whatever time of the day. Music generally improves our mood, and it’s one of the most powerful tools to improve our health. After a disastrous period of time, it takes some time for the person to start with a fresh perspective. We feel that following bad incidents, we should stay in silence and take a break from things. Absolutely not. Instead of being silent, listening to music will boost your mind, and sooner than later, you restart with a fresh perspective. Most people who listen to music regularly are very chilled and fresh people. The ones who don’t listen to music regularly, are the exact opposite (no offense).

Now the most important part, the musicians. Practising music is an art, and it brings peace to our minds. Music isn’t anything easy to achieve, and it takes a lot of practice to nail some song or anything that music includes. Many of us consider music as a hobby, and probably practice it daily and also attend classes. But if music is one of the most important things for you, then practice it daily not just for the sake of classes. Consider music as important as your studies, not an extracurricular activity. Even if you do become a successful musician, don’t lose practice. Practice makes a human almost perfect (nobody’s perfect). We often think that we can’t concentrate on things while listening to music, for example writing. For me, all this is wrong, as music possesses a power that gives you a completely different kind of energy (doesn’t matter what kind of music it is).

Music is for sure the most underrated form of entertainment, and I hope to not keep it that way for long. If we change, then the world will change. Similarly, if we give music the importance it deserves like other forms of genres, things will change. This doesn’t mean you have to give up other forms of entertainment (books, movies, etcetera). We should try and give equal importance to all kinds of entertainment, regardless of its value to you. Everything deserves equal praise, and why take it away?

Music is a total powerhouse, and we have to finally accept it. We can’t avoid the truth for long, and just so you know, it doesn’t mean that other kinds of entertainment aren’t important at all. All types of entertainment are very invaluable to us, and it’s time for us to step up and help in the growth of all these kinds of things. I’m not trying to force anyone into joining music, because it depends from person to person. What my main motto is encouraging others in rediscovering the magic of music, and giving it back its much-deserved value. I’m no exception in these kinds of things, and I’m trying to motivate myself too. The "TRUE MUSIC FANS" do comment on what kind of music is your favourite and what instrument you play. Until next time, stay safe, healthy and wear a mask.

Adios.

(P.S- Kudos to me as I wrote the entire article while listening to music, and I didn’t get distracted at all (do tell if there are grammatical or spelling mistakes). Not a single word or sentence was written without listening to a single sound of music. The above context doesn’t include any kind of promotions.)
