21st January 2020. The day where it all began for me, technically us. Might’ve been an ordinary morning for most people, but it was tiring for me after a long journey to the city where I was all set to adopt my new pets. The funny thing was that I never had any pets in my then 2 month-long-life, but there were several instances where my family members had conversations about adopting pets. From my ancestors about hundreds of years ago to me, our family had pets from all over the world. These pets are mostly from the human species, and they’re things that don’t need any introduction with all their achievements. Quite surprising how well they’ve evolved this world without much help from our species, but alright.
It's been two years since then (my math has improved quite a bit) and there have been so many changes in my life. Well routine-wise I haven’t changed a lot apart from a couple of things, but I’ve learned a lot during this two-year period all thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. My life before the pandemic and after it struck were two worlds apart. My routine was mostly waking up early, going for a walk with my pets, taking rest (probably having some food in between), and another walk in the evening. After that, I took a nice sleep to make it through the night.

Well, that routine does seem appealing, but what was the major change in it? Instead of being home alone all day, I was able to keep an eye on my pets throughout as they seemed to have nothing to do apart from staying home. I had hardly seen this happen in my first two months with them, and there surely was some solid reason, and yes after several days of research, I found the root cause of why they were home. COVID happened!
The spread of COVID and my pets being home turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me. In the first four months of my life, I never realized that there was so much out in the world to learn. From achieving in different fields to becoming a good soul, there was abundant stuff to achieve in life. My first lesson from this ‘COVID Guru book was that the outcome of being patient is always fruitful. My pets worked/studied for hours each day in their normal routine and after being patient for years, they finally got one of the longest possible holidays because of the pandemic. Nearly two years.

The best thing about being a dog was that you never really need to do anything. Keep napping all day and nobody would even question it. One of my best qualities is multi-tasking. The new model of education due to the pandemic was online classes, and there was no way anyone could question me attending it. Be it some math in middle school or college-based studies, I had learned t it all 😎. Well, those classes were meant for Aaryan and his sister, but at this rate, I possibly learned a lot of stuff more than what they did.

Apart from being academically active, I tried my hand in extracurricular activities like blogging and acting (not bragging about those at all). These humans are always up to something, and about a year ago, there was a lot of hype about this platform called YouTube. There were videos made of different varieties, and one of Aaryan’s friends ran a dog-based channel. One of the videos had the plot of dogs having an online conference call, and I voluntarily opted to be part of it, and the video was a hit. Last year, I even tried writing a few articles about my life and took over the reins from Aaryan for a couple of posts. This is a blog post, and that surely gives you a decent idea of my style of writing.
Life is all about challenges and trying new things, and in the past 1.5 years, I’ve made several trips (something that’s really out of my comfort zone). In September 2020 and August 2021, I stayed at a farm because my pets were away. I don’t generally like new places, but there was something else about being there. Whenever I used to go somewhere else, it didn’t feel like home but that farm seemed like a home away from home. The first couple of days I kept thinking what if my pets don’t return back to me; what if I have to stay here forever. Of course, they returned and we came back home, or how else would it be a happy ending?

The last 2 years have been thrilling, exciting, and slightly weird for me all because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I wouldn’t have experienced any of the above things if not for the COVID-19 pandemic. Yes, many people have suffered a lot because of covid in this 2 year period, but on behalf all dogs in the world and animals: I thank you COVID for everything you’ve given me in this two year period.
