The Dog Returns

Where? How? Why? Tons of questions have been pondered by almost every person reading this. The one person who had made a spectacular entry to writing, something he didn’t even know of, with a brilliant life story narration, disappeared out of nowhere. The naughty little creature who is adored by his pets, had delivered us an absolute masterclass and could do more, but where is the dog?!

After a splendid first blog, it was quite not like me to not continue writing about my life story. But as you know, a dog’s life can be pretty busy, right? Hardly would you see me not doing anything, as my day is busy as any. The amount of workload has made me tired lately, and it’s high time for me to lower down the expectations.

Being a pet owner is not easy at all, and doesn’t let you become lazy. They are cute, hilarious at times as the most adorable creatures in the world, but we all know how miserable they can make our lives. Pets don’t need an introduction, as everyone knows who they are, and what they’re up to. My case has been absolutely different, as my pets are more mature than others (I’m not sure, but that’s what I think). They behave in a proper way, and at times I feel that they’re my owners, not pets. Weird, ain’t it?

The past 4 months have been pretty decent for me. I have learnt several things: to keep patience, behave properly in front of my pets, keep a proper routine, and so on. The most important thing that I’ve learnt is that my pets don’t actually understand what I say. They’ve shown me how to do different things like poop, stay, sit, shake, etcetera. The point is that despite me understanding most of their language, they can’t understand me at all, meaning I couldn’t flaunt in front of others about my pets being very understanding. I should’ve realised this a long time ago, as they didn’t seem comfortable when I spoke, or barked as the human species say. They don’t understand me at all, unless it’s potty time.

My day is very busy compared to most in my species. It all starts between 6 to 7 in the morning. With my beautiful voice (they don’t feel that way) I wake everybody up. And out I go for a walk, and get myself relieved. On such fresh mornings, my mind has a healthy perspective and a different kind of energy. I run around like crazy all over the backyard, until my energy drains out.

It’s around 10 in the morning, which is the beginning of the most important phase in my day. SLEEP TIME! After a lot of running and playing around, I needed to regain my energy by sleeping for the next 4-5 hours. And boy, that is not easy by any means! There are people moving outside and chatting among themselves, my pets watching TV or having calls with others, sleeping couldn’t be more difficult. Despite all these shortcomings, I’ve prepared myself to be patient, and get the work done. Sleep!

My pets have their lunch at 2 PM, when I finish my work. Lunch is a meal like every other, if you do not know. The post lunch period is absolutely chill time. My pets take me to their bedrooms, where again I’m back to working, sleep! Such a pity I can’t invite them to sit in my bedroom ( it’s only possible for me to get in there).

After hours of sleeping, I’m very excited to sit with my pets. There’s some cool air in the room, and it is much better than sitting in the backyard or the living room. But my whirlwind energy went in vain! Each of my pets are immersed in something that brought them great joy, but not me. The SCREEN! They keep staring at it all day without getting tired, I mean how! It gets boring later to sit there, and I try to escape with every chance I get.

The evening time is quite good too. I go for a walk, relieve myself and play ball with my pets. Hours after playing, I get myself some food in the evening. There’s some family bonding between all my pets as they watch TV together (I hate TV but love the bonding). Very soon the doors are locked, and in no time, everyone’s asleep.

Everyone wants to be a perfect pet owner, but in my case, my pets are perfect. They’re of different species, they speak different languages, and they live differently, but they understand and care for me. Sometimes I feel they’re more of my owners, and I’m their pet. When I came into this household, I didn’t know anybody and what to do. I was anxious about getting away from my family, but I’ve come a long way since then. My pets are my family. I’ve got dog friends in the form of Loki and Dobby, dogs who I haven’t even met yet, but consider as a friend. It’s all about the care and love, which my pets truly succeeded at. Until next time, stay safe, healthy and wear a mask.

Adios.
