The ‘Holi’ Day

A day starting with colours and ending with the same. Several snacks at offer, people gearing up together to play this wonderful and festival of colours. Holi is a kind of festival which is not just about religious beliefs or practice, but about enjoying yourself with your family and close ones. People start preparing for this one in a year's occasion as early as possible.

The festival of colours, Holi is definitely one of the most popular and celebrated festivals in India. The vibrancy of colours on Holi bring a lot of positivity in our lives, so the Holi is a day definitely worth rejoicing. Holi is celebrated in every part of India with utmost joy and enthusiasm. The ritual starts with the bonfire a day prior Holi, and symbolises the victory of good over evil.

Holi is also called the festival of love, as people get to reunite with each other forgetting all resentments and bad feelings towards each other. Holi helps the society and people together, and strengthens the secularity of our nation. Even though it is a Hindu festival, non-Hindus celebrate it too, and why would they not want to be part of this joyous and colourful festival? Holi allows us to make up our differences with people, and forget the bad things that happened in the past. We should forget the hardships, and turn our enemies into friends. On this day, there is no differentiation between rich and poor, or any distinctions. Everybody celebrates this festival together, with a spirit of brotherhood, and cheerfulness.

The festival Holi promotes the importance of health, as colours have a great impact on our body. Physicians and doctors believe that to keep a healthy body, colours have an important place besides other vital things. Deficiency of any colour in our body causes ailment, and can only be cured after providing the body with the same colour. On Holi, people generally clean up the dust and mess in their houses. A clean house makes the residents get a positive feeling of cleanliness.

The festival comes at a time when people tend to get lazy, and don't have the positive energies flowing through their body. The festival of Holi changes this fact, and everyone is quite excited to be part of this festival. The various colours used bring a lot of positivity, and even the laziest people get up and prepare themselves for this festival of colours. Apart from all this, the festival also promotes religious values.

It’s official for me that Holi 2021 didn’t go the way it should’ve. The pandemic ruined everyone’s plans, and many didn’t play it as well. It was similar to last year, when this rise of Covid-19 played a part in ruining Holi. Holi 2021 was definitely not the one to remember for ages, but we can definitely find better and more safer ways to play Holi instead of using colours and water. Playing Holi with flowers might be an option (might sound childish but it does work) or playing with sanitizer, as it is the safest of them all (just kidding).

For most of us, Holi is the best festival and are definitely gutted to see Holi not being celebrated in the best possible way this year. All we can do is hope that we get to play Holi this year without the fear being infected from Covid-19, and it is for sure the best ‘Holi’ Day in the entire year. Holi spreads different messages every year, and the message for this year is to stay safe and healthy.

Adios.
