Technology: part-1

There’s something all of us use a lot in our daily life. And by daily life I mean, the life in quarantine, and not the so-called “Normal routine”. It’s none other than Technology.

Technology has a lot of advantages and disadvantages, but we mostly point out the advantages, because it drastically makes improvements in our life. But if we take a close look at the disadvantages, then there are too many to look at. So, I have decided to divide this topic into two halves: Part-1 stating advantages and Part-2 stating the disadvantages.

So, I present to you the top 5 advantages of technology (There were too many to pick from).

1) Easily Accessible: In the last 10 months or so, we have used so much technology, that it has become too simple for us to use it. There were a lot of things we couldn’t do using technology such as Scheduling Meetings, connecting to the Wi-Fi, etcetera. Before this lockdown period, I’m pretty sure many people would find it tough to use technology, but now, be it old people or toddlers, using technology is a piece of cake for all.

2) Communication with Friends and Relatives: Staying at home in quarantine meant that we couldn’t meet our friends and relatives physically and had to find a new way to communicate with them. Technology made it easy for us by allowing Video Calls, and we were able to meet our family and friends virtually. WhatsApp, FaceTime and other apps allowed us to meet our friends and family using technology.

3) Easy access to information and saves time: The WORLD WIDE WEB, also known as WWW has made this world a social village. This is because information from all over the world is available on this platform. While most of the information we have access to is purely factual, we also have access to images and other forms of media. It also saves a lot of time and effort because of its lighting quick speed.

4) Easy of Mobility and cost efficiency: Have we ever wondered our life without a car or any other means of transport? Definitely not because technology has placed these things under our foot. And this is not just it, all forms of transports keep getting improved every single day. From Bullock Carts to Trains to Airplanes, technology has made things change a lot. Another thing that technology focuses on is making things efficient and cheap, so that people can afford it. Companies like Apple make things very efficient, so that they can last years, and on the other hand make it expensive, whereas companies like Samsung make their products long lasting but cheap and affordable.

5) Disabled are now ABLED: Science and technology together make a deadly combination. Together they’ve made nearly everything possible that we couldn’t even think of in our dreams. Artificial feet, smart sticks, Hearing aids and what not has been invented. The Disabled are no more disabled and they surely are the same as the normal people.

I hope all of you agree with the advantages I have stated, and probably all of them would’ve helped you at separate occasions. But in Part-2 of this topic, where I’ll be stating the disadvantages, you’ll learn how the HERO WORSHIPPED TECHNOLOGY affects us mentally and how we can avoid too much of it before it takes over us completely.
