Fun with MUN

To be honest, I was damn nervous of being in an MUN. Firstly, I had never been part of such an event and had hardly any experience for the same. I literally did not even want to register for it, but funny how things change in seconds? Without any doubts or questions, I registered for the event and in the next moment, I was going to attend it. Of course, I had prepared for it, by reading documents and pdfs related to my country, but come on, it was my first time, I wasn’t supposed to nail it in the very first attempt.
For a 13-year-old me, the primary medium of education and gaining knowledge was through middle school, and all I could do was make an effort to gain ‘external’ knowledge. But, the initiative of giving opportunities in events such as this, was going to provide me with a decent enough experience, knowledge and confidence to go further. My main goal in being part of MUN 2021 was to keep learning from others, and just try how I can imply that on myself. I always try not to limit myself when it comes to learning, and it doesn’t matter who the teacher is, the door for learning is always open for me.

The most interesting challenge for me in this MUN was going to be that I came into it without any prior experience. Almost everything was going to be new for me, and I readily accepted it. A lot of people don’t volunteer for such events, as they don’t have ‘experience’, or they might embarrass themselves. There’s always a start for everything, and MUN 2021 was the one for me. The experience probably powered me to another level, the debates, writing reports and articles couldn’t have made me happier. Usually, it’s pretty boring if you’re in the same meeting for 7 hours, but this MUN was definitely worth it.
An example that the MUN was a great one for me is: I wrote this article.
